The story about a frightened little turtle and how he overcomes his fear to save his treasured friend, the mouse, who has been helping him survive for months, is destined to help children overcome their fears of the outside world. In her own words, Ms. Randall describes the story; "This story is one of my personal favorites because the illustrated characters so perfectly portray the personality of their written characters and the balance is wonderful. The turtle, being full of fear, looses that fear only after recognizing the importance of his valued friendship being threatened, which forces him to do something he's never done before and the faithful mouse is saved, but not before he has the opportunity to lecture the turtle on the value of learning to depend on others. Every story I do is taken from my own life's experience. I loved doing both the story and the illustrations for this one and I hope the audience, both children and adults will enjoy it as much as I did creating it.
