SAVANNAH, GA --- Low Country Luxe, a private label candle distributor headquartered in Savannah, has earned the distinction of being featured in the October 2007 issue of Costal Living.

The magazine showcases Low Country Luxe’s popular Seagrass candle in the “Currents” section, which focuses upon hot new items representing the very best of life along the coast. This popular line of exquisitely-crafted candles is available now in over 300 stores nationwide, since its national launch this past January.

Low Country Luxe candles have been featured in Cooking with Paula Deen, Gifts and Decorative Accessories and Charleston Home. From Santa Monica, Calif. to South Hampton, N.Y., upscale boutiques from coast to coast carry this custom line of six scented candles that tantalize the imagination with sensual, long-lasting scents.

These Southern botanical scented candles combine a variety of fragrances including Confederate jasmine, Southern magnolia and pink azalea with sensual, uplifting citrus scents. The candles are named after Lowcountry havens like Savannah and Charleston as well as signature coastal botanicals like Sea Grass, Spanish Moss and High Cotton.

Under the leadership of Natalie Evans, an accomplished photo stylist and product development expert whose clients have included a number of Fortune 500 companies, sales at the Savannah-based company have taken off in recent months.

“The response from stores and from customers across the country has been outstanding,” said Evans. “People really respond to the clean and light scents. In fact, we’ve dramatically expanded our production in order to keep pace with the demand for the upcoming holiday season.”

Beautifully packaged in a cylindrical celadon box adorned with a watercolor of the marsh, Low Country Luxe’s candles come with an elegant gift card inscribed with a line from Sidney Lanier’s legendary 1878 poem “The Marshes of Glynn.” In fact, the portion of Lanier’s poem dedicated to Georgia’s tidal marshes served as a source of inspiration for the innovative packaging design.

A special Gullah candle celebrates the sweet floral scent of coastal South Carolina and serves as a tribute to the descendants of slaves originally brought to the United States from the west coast of Africa. A portion of the proceeds from the sale of each Gullah candle helps preserve the legacy and history of this unique coastal culture. Proceeds are donated to the Penn Center, the first school for freed slaves on St. Helena Island, S.C.
