“Our objective is not to advocate turning a blind eye to our problems, or ponder as to whether capitalism and environmental awareness can coexist, but to highlight the environmental consequences of misusing energy resources, and to underline and reinforce the feasibility of existing and near-term future alternative energy solutions”, said Eugenio Verzili, Managing Partner of Juno Mother Earth Asset Management. Political leaders globally are faced with an overwhelming responsibility”, added Verzili.

This conference will focus on the ethical as well as economic dilemma, due to the globalizing economy forcing ever greater interdependence and interaction between developed and developing nations. “We can easily forecast mammoth car fleets in China and India, but how will they be fuelled?” said Roland Jansen.

The role of science, especially referring to scientific uncertainty concerning issues like global warming, desertification and deforestation, oil and gas depletion (peak oil & gas), livestock and plant disease proliferation, depletion of the ozone layer, and species extinction among others will be covered at the conference.

“We are confident that our contribution to this event will drive other countries to focus their efforts on increasing the awareness for the need to take action to accelerate alternate energy development, energy conservation and reducing dependency on hydrocarbons, also to reduce climate change impacts from fossil fuel burning,” said Joseph Di Virgilio, Managing Partner and Portfolio Manager of Juno Mother Earth Asset Management.
