“2nd ANNUAL NORTHEAST COLLEGE FAIR”

WHAT:    
Barrio Action Youth & Family Center in partnership with LAUSD Board President, Monica Garcia, will hold its 2nd Annual Northeast College Fair.  The event will provide an opportunity for a variety of colleges and universities to outreach to unrepresented student populations as well as to help students and their families discover how a college education can be accessible and affordable.

WHO:        
An array of community colleges, universities, financial aid organizations and non-profit organizations.  Some of the confirmed colleges and universities are: Cal State LA, Cal State Long Beach, Cal State Northridge, California Student Aid Commission, Columbia College of Hollywood, East Los Angeles College, Fashion Institute of Design and Merchandising, Glendale Community College, I Can Afford College Campaign, LA Cash for College, Mount St. Mary’s College, National University, Occidental College, Pasadena City College, Princeton University, Santa Monica College, UCLA, University of Phoenix, UC Riverside, UC Santa Barbara, University of New Mexico, University of the West, USC Norman Topping Student Aid Fund and Super Estrella 107.1 FM.

BACKGROUND:    
We are please to offer a one of a kind college fair where the community has worked together to promote access to higher education to our Northeast Los Angeles youth.  This event is the result of positive synergy from non-profits, schools, private businesses and community activists.

PHOTO OPS:
Assembly member, Kevin De Leon will be present to giveaway a few of our scholarships.  Also, additional elected officials will drop by during the event.
