Bermuda Dunes, California -- Jimmie Rodgers, international legendary singing star of 23 gold records, 1957-1970,s, including “Honeycomb”, “Kisses Sweeter than Wine”,  and “Secretly”,  motion picture star and television personality, “Jimmie Rodgers Show”;  after 40 years of severe suffering and various attempts to regain a normal life, has now undergone risky  cranium surgery and miraculously returns to normal health.  In December 1967, at the height of Mr. Rodgers life, career and stardom, his world was savagely brought to an end when he was the victim of a near death brutal beating allegedly involving the Los Angeles police department that left him alone abandoned in his car, on the side of the road, with his skull bashed in, waiting to die. During emergency surgical procedures and three brain operations, in attempts to save his life, a large portion of his skull was removed and replaced with a 24 square inch metal plate. During various attempts to regain his career he was struck down with recurring brain seizures. After years of multiple surgeries, he slowly regained his mobility and a fraction of his life.  Over the past 40 years he has lived in pain and undergone constant subsequent surgeries to maintain scalp closure over the plate.  He endured 40 years of living in fear, pain and anguish, renewed with each episode of the scalp skin breaking open and exposing the plate which protected the brain, making him susceptible to brain infections and possible death.  The medical profession had given up all hope of finding a solution to Mr. Rodgers deteriorating condition until June of this year.  Dr. Richard Jordan, a Neuro Surgeon in North Little Rock, Arkansas, after extensive examination and concern for Mr. Rodgers life, concluded that a possibility existed whereby the skull had slowly re-generated bone itself.  During a potentially risky operation, Dr. Jordan removed the plate to find his hypothesis correct in that miraculously his skull had experienced complete bone re-growth.  While the newly formed skull bone is still soft, for the first time in 40 years, Jimmie is without persistent pain, sleepless nights and the fear of death due to brain infection.  Mr. Rodgers is now in full recovery with his wife, Mary, and family in California.  He has just completed his emotionally charged autobiography, written as a novel, and screenplay revealing his life’s triumphs’, tragic losses, pain and suffering as well loves found, lost and found again.  He is currently exploring publishing and film outlets and working on a second fiction novel, several screenplays and unpublished songs.  Jimmie is back!
