Vancouver, BC Canada (MMD Newswire) October 29, 2009 -- The IndieFest 2010 will be hosted just east of Vancouver, BC Canada from July 30-Aug 2, 2010. Forget coming to Vancouver for the 2010 Olympics, set your calender for this one of a kind spectacular on the west coast.
Starting the weekend off is a Battle of the Indie Bands competition for over $20,000 US in cash and prizes. The best of the bands will be voted on by the audience via text messaging. After which concerts from the likes of Lee Aaron, Turnpike Bandits, Julian Austin, Stevie Wonder, Tito Jackson, Prism, Hollywood Assassyn, Independents for Independence, Honeymoon Suite, Don Steinbach, The Ohio Players, Karen Lee Baton, Joe Hikk, Black Horse North, K.N.S. Rockstar, Harlequin, Lewis Moorman, The Lost Boys and dozens of others will take to the stages over the weekend. Major headliners still be added as are bands and artists from all genres.
It is expected that over 200,000 spectators over the weekend will show up to party like no other venue can. The location is situated along one of Canada's largest rivers, looking up at the majestic Bridal Falls as it pours down from Mount Cheam. Free shuttle buses will take patrons all over town so that vehicles can remain parked all weekend. Shutttles to the nearby Cultus Lake Beach, water slides, go carts, mini-golf, full semi-private golf and country clubs, Dinotown Amusement park, world renowned Minter Gardens and so much more.
With free solar powered cell phone recharging stations, recycling bins out numbering garbage containers by at least 3-1, generators when needed running bio diesel as much as possible, much of the non-show lighting will be low energy LED systems which will use solar power to charge the systems during the daytime and many other initiatives to make this one of the most eco-friendly music festivals in North America.
Family groups will be well away from the party friendly camping zones to ensure everyone gets into the excitement and enjoys themselves in doing so. This music festival will be one of the most talked about events until 2011 when it happens all over again.
