Grace, the title character, has been in a lackluster marriage for many years, giving most of her dreams up to work with her husband in his business. In an effort to explore the challenges and growth of starting anew, Luigs examines Grace's own trials of starting over. Later, Luigs found herself in a similar situation. During her last edit of Healing Grace, she was not only newly single but also working as a fiber artist on a downtown square very similar to the one in the book. Luigs was astounded that her life had become very similar to what she had written about years before it had happened. She hopes that Healing Grace can lead the way to new answers about flowing through life and help readers to discover their authentic selves and live their lives with passion.

Jill Luigs received her bachelor's degree in English with honors from the University of Texas at Dallas, and has postgraduate hours in creative writing from the University of Colorado at Boulder and Harvard University.
