By Any Means Necessary!: An Entrepreneur's Journey into Space by Gregory H. Olsen recounts the author's life story culminating in a visit to outer space

PRINCETON, N.J. (MMD Newswire) April 20, 2010 -- By Any Means Necessary!: An Entrepreneur's Journey into Space by Gregory H. Olsen is an autobiographical account of the author's rise from underachieving high-school student to scientist, inventor, business mogul and space traveler.

On October 1, 2005, American entrepreneur Olsen climbed aboard a Russian Soyuz rocket and blasted off for the International Space Station. He was only the third private citizen to make that trip. A self-described "average guy," Olsen recounts how he went from an underachieving juvenile delinquent who almost didn't get into college to an acclaimed scientist with 12 patents in electronics. Following his research career, Olsen founded, built and sold two companies during the boom and bust of the Internet bubble. He overcame significant health issues and navigated through Russian bureaucracy to secure a seat on a space shuttle bound for orbit.

"I can summarize how I feel about my life in four words: average guy makes good," Olsen says. "This book is dedicated to those who wonder what it takes to succeed or to get ahead or whatever they define as their goal in life. The secret is...there is no secret! You just have to put your head down and do it, in spite of the doubts, the setbacks, the failures, or however long it takes."

Olsen's space odyssey included more than 150 orbits of the earth and almost four million miles of weightless travel during his 10 days in space. The book features photographs of Olsen's preparations for the journey, views of the ship and assorted scenes from his life as a scientist and entrepreneur. Intended to entertain and inspire, the book encourages readers to follow their dreams and keep working until they achieve them.
