What:    The Goodguys 9th Southwest Nationals presented by RB’s Obsolete is now a three day event featuring over 2,500 1972 & earlier hot rods, customs, classics, street rods, muscle cars, & trick trucks.  In addition to the massive car show, the event will include manufacturer and vendor exhibits, a swap meet and cars for sale area, special vehicle corrals on Saturday, nostalgia entertainment, model & pedal car expo, kids play area and lots of fun for the entire family.

Special awards and featured vehicles will be showcased throughout the event. These include Boyd Coddington’s Pro’s Picks, STREET RODDER Magazine Top 10, Judy Murray Memorial Award and many others.

Goodguys will display their “Chosen Five of 2006” in a special display on the upper paddock area. The Chosen Five are the final winners in a year long search for the nation’s finest cars and trucks. They include the Goodguys Muscle Car of the Year, the Kustom of the Year, the Custom Rod of the Year and the Truck of the Year (early through 1952) and Truck of the Year (late ’53 – ’72).

When:    Friday, Saturday and Sunday, November 17, 18 & 19. Event hours are: Friday and Saturday 8 am to 5 pm and Sunday 8:00 am to 3:00 pm.

Outdoor Show n’ Shine:
The Goodguys 9th Southwest Nationals, the final event in the Goodguys 2006 schedule, is one of the Southwest’s premier gatherings of hot rods & custom cars.  With an outdoor show n’ shine of over 2,500 vintage classics through 1972, WestWorld will be landscaped with acres of gleaming, candy-colored cars.  Lil’ deuce coupes, hot rod roadsters, lead-sled 50’s Merc customs, ‘55-’57 Chevy’s, Camaros, Barracuda’s & Mustangs and other timeless beauties will fill the entire outdoor acreage of WestWorld.

Commercial Exhibits/Swap Meet/Car Corral: 
Commercial and vendor exhibits will fill a large white circus-style tent and the areas outside the tent. The swap meet and cars for sale corral offers unlimited bargain hunting and shopping for rare car parts.

Special Feature Areas:  Held on Saturday from the 8 am to 2 pm, these areas will include: Timberland PRO’s Homebuilt Heaven, Youngguys—for participants 25 and younger sponsored by Budnik Wheels, Mighty Muscle Car, Ya Gotta Drive ‘Em, and Low Smooth and Cool.

Best of the Best:  The Chosen Five of ’05—the Goodguys 2005 Hot Rod of the Year, Truck of the Year Early, Truck of the Year Late, Muscle Car of the Year, Street Rod of the Year and Custom Rod of the Year will all be invited to Scottsdale for the gala showing! Don’t miss this chance to see them!

Model Car Show:  Don’t miss your chance to see these amazing miniatures up and close and in person.  On Saturday, Revell Monogram will be sponsoring the Make n’ Take session at 1 pm.  Model car kits will be available for the kids to build the kits and take them home.

Entertainment:  DJ Dave will spin tunes from the 50’s and 60’s all weekend long.
 
Awards Ceremony:  At 2:22 pm on Sunday, over 75 lucky recipients will be given awards at the Goodguys 9th Southwest Nationals awards ceremony. It’s a great way to see the best of the best!
