What:    The Goodguys 5th Midwestern Nationals, part of the 2006 Goodguys Event Series will feature over 3,000 1972 & earlier hot rods, customs, classics, street rods, muscle cars, street machines & trick trucks.  In addition to the giant car show, the event will showcase manufacturer exhibits and commercial displays both inside the garage buildings and outside, a used auto parts swap meet and cars for sale area, entertainment by the Rhythm Method, model & pedal car expo, arts & crafts, featured vehicle display areas on Saturday, Boyd Coddington’s Pro’s Picks, track cruise on Saturday night for event participants, hot rod seminars, kids play area and lots of fun for the entire family.

When:
    Friday, Saturday and Sunday, September 1, 2 & 3. Event hours are: Friday 8:00 am to 5:00 pm, Saturday 8:00 am to 5:00 pm and Sunday 8:00 am to 3:00 pm.

Tickets:    General admission:  $15, Seniors (60+) $12, Kids (7-12) $6 and 6 and under are free.  Free spectator parking is available. Spectator tickets can be purchased online at www.good-guys.com.

Event Highlights:

Outdoor Show n’ Shine: The Goodguys 5th Midwestern Nationals, the premier gatherings in the Midwest for hot rods, customs, classics, muscle cars and street machines. With an outdoor show n’ shine of over 3,000 vehicles through 1972 vintage, Kansas Speedway will be landscaped with acres of gleaming, candy-colored cars.  Lil’ deuce coupes, hot rod roadsters, lead-sled Merc customs, ‘55-’57 Chevy’s & fat-fendered Fords will compose a lot of the show n’ shine, while classics and other timeless beauties will round out the scene. Special Featured Display Areas:  On Saturday from 8 am to 2 pm, the following special areas will be featured at the event: Boyd Coddington’s Pro’s Picks, Mighty Muscle (’55-’72), Homebuilt Heaven sponsored by Timberland PRO, Youngguys—for event participants 25 years of age and younger, Custom Rod Round up, Deuce Doin’s, Low, Smooth and Cool.

Commercial & Vendor Exhibits/Swap Meet/Car Corral:  Commercial  & vendor exhibits will fill the garage buildings and the outside areas around it selling the latest in rod & custom parts and accessories, while the swap meet and cars for sale corral offer unlimited bargain hunting and shopping for used & rare car parts. Model & Pedal Car Show:  Don’t miss the chance to see these miniatures on display. On Saturday at 1 pm the Revell Make N’ Take area will be set up for kids to make a model and take it home with them. For information on the model car show, contact Dwayne Bressem at 816/617-3536.

Entertainment:  DJ Dave will spin tunes from the 50’s and 60’s all weekend long.  On stage on Saturday and Sunday, don’t miss The Rhythm Method.

Awards Ceremony:  At 2:22 pm on Sunday, over 60 lucky recipients will be presented with awards at the Goodguys 5th Midwestern Nationals awards ceremony at the entertainment stage.
