Emile Simon proves “It’s never too late”!
At the age of 78 yrs, for the second year in a row has won the International HMA for Composer of World Music
February 28, 2007: Emile Simon at the age of 78 years has proven that it is never too late! A long way from the prison camp in Siberia in his youth, he began to compose music at the age of 74 years and has now won for the second time – 1st in World Music at the International HMA (Hawaii Music Awards). This time it was for his CD True Love as composer of World Music. This is truly an honor with twenty-eight countries entering and votes from all over the world.
Emile started writing music when his wife June Simon, who had lost her voice through illness, rediscovered that her voice had returned. Truly a man for all seasons, his youthful nature never ends writing music covering many genres, including Latin, European, Western and Romantic – receiving the lst prize in World Music for his very first Special Moments CD in 2004. Emile is giving new life to the traditionally classical instruments by reintroducing them into the contemporary music scene in a new and exciting way. Not only does he write the music but he also writes lyrics which touch your heart and mind, worldly, universal yet full of truth, love and hope.
