Leave your Grandkids a Message at 41Day.com
A new free website allows you to leave your grandchildren and loved ones a “message for the future,” secured by personalized riddles that you create. You don’t need to know their future email addresses because they can simply go to www.41day.com , enter their first and last names and check for your messages.
41Day is an innovative posting and retrieval service that allows you to choose when your message will be available to read – the only catch is that it has to be at least 30 days from now.
Dino Sergiano, a seasoned entrepreneur, and Anil Singh-Molares, a former Microsoft business executive, incorporated 41Day.com in March 2006 in Seattle. For the past year, a development team has been building and testing the site. The site improves upon conventional email messages that can’t be guaranteed because people’s addresses, both physical and email change over the years. However, you can retrieve your message anytime or anywhere on 41Day.com by entering your name on the site’s homepage – and answering the “security riddles.”
The company coined the term “security riddle” for a question or series of questions that the sender creates for each receiver. “It adds some fun to the process while simultaneously protecting the privacy of your message,” says Singh-Molares. The security riddles established by the sender must be answered correctly in order to retrieve the posted message. You can leave increasingly intimate messages to loved ones or future generations through a set of riddles that only your closest family and friends would know the answer to in order to unlock your messages. “It can be as easy or complicated as you wish. The riddles could guard a treasure map that you left for your child’s fiftieth birthday,” says Sergiano.
The site is free in celebration of its launch. You can post a future message to your friends or family by going to www.41Day.com and registering.
