Madison Heights, MI -- October 17, 2006 -- Darrick Scruggs looks happy and relaxed. Although he has a lot of his competitors in Michigan worried sick. He just got off the phone from doing an Internet radio interview about his promise to give away brand new Jeep Liberty SUVs if a renter buys a home from him during the upcoming First Time Home Buyer Octoberfest that his mortgage company, Granite Financial Group, is putting on in Southfield on October 28, 2006.

He remembers his own days as a renter when fresh out of college he was living in Detroit and the dream of buying his first home was well just a dream.

“No one gets up in the morning, rolls over to their honey and says, ‘You know we are lucky to be renting.’ Owning your home is an American dream and in Michigan right now – with thousands of sellers lined up for somebody to buy their home – this is the easiest time to go and get a great deal.”

But even on this, Darrick has changed the traditional way of buying a home. “I sat and saw a good two dozen dreams fall apart in front of my eyes when a first time home buyer could not get their dream home, only for a lack of a couple thousand dollars. Well I got a bunch of people with tons of equity.”

Darrick works exclusively with several real estate investors, who have bought bank foreclosures, renovated them and then sold them. Since they are not your typical mom and pop sellers and they have equity, any Michigan renter buying a house from them gets all the help they need to get the keys to their dream home.
