(EPC) today filed a patent infringement suit against WELLS FARGO BANK N.A., formerly known as WACHOVIA BANK, N.A., in the United States District Court, Middle District of Florida Tampa Division, alleging infringing of two patents issued to EPC. EPC alleges Wells Fargo's "Way 2 Save" and "Save As You Go" programs infringe EPC's U.S. Patent Numbers 7,571,849 and 8,025,217. Dr. Bertram V. Burke, the CEO and co-founder of EPC, is the "Father of Rounding", as well as the "Inventor and Father" of both the Open Network prepaid card and the Closed Merchant issued gift card.
