eScavengers - The Next Generation of Online Games

Madison Heights, Michigan, May 3, 2007 -- Michigan-based media company WAY Creative Media is about to create a big bang in the universe of online games. Until now, web-based games could be fast, fun and user friendly…or, they could be powerful tools for marketing companies, but they could never be both. This challenge led Zac Ball, chief programming guru and co-owner of WAY Creative, to develop eScavengers. “It gives consumers a free, simple and fun way to earn rewards and compete for great prizes. At the same time it provides marketers with an inexpensive, turnkey way to gain exposure, attract qualified web traffic and gather deep consumer insight. Everybody wins!”

At www.escavengers.com , consumers can sign up to become “eScavengers” and compete in “Adventures”. They use speed, knowledge, and skill to compete in real-time against others with similar interests. Each eScavenger must solve a series of clues leading to images, numbers, words, or phrases found on web pages. Clicking on the correct target takes the eScavenger to the next clue and so on until the Adventure is complete.

The first eScavenger to solve all the clues and click on the correct targets is the grand prize winner in that Adventure, but no player leaves empty-handed. Every eScavenger who completes an Adventure earns “Doubloons,” which can be collected and spent on merchandise from eScavengers’ online reward bank, appropriately dubbed, “Treasure Island.”

Sponsors or co-sponsors of Adventures will see increased traffic and interest because eScavengers are driven to scour their web pages for answers to clues. However, there are other benefits as well. “Businesses can potentially gather a wide range of customizable and extremely valuable information,” Ball explains “without using intrusive surveys or other tactics that invade user privacy or interfere with the fun.” Based on a sponsor’s business needs, the eScavenger development team can create customized clues and tailored Adventures to promote new offerings, test potential responses or generate consumer insight.

Needless to say, everyone at WAY Creative is very excited about this launch. “This isn’t just an innovative concept,” says Zac Ball, “it’s supported by some significant technical breakthroughs and a lot of hard work from the whole team. We think it is going to be really big with both gamers and sponsors, as well as people looking for something fun to do online.”

The eScavenger site will go fully live at approximately 5:00 p.m. EST on May 1st. At that time, those who want to join the ranks of eScavengers can begin signing up for Adventures. The initial Adventure is scheduled for May 4th at 7:00 p.m. EST and will be sponsored by WAY Creative with several huge prizes including a 42” plasma TV as a draw for potential gamers.
