Irvine, CA, January 29, 2008 -- EDI Health Group, Inc. (EHG) has formalized its corporate philanthropic activities by creating the EHG Fund. Developed in association with the Orange County Community Foundation, the Fund was established to finance programs in health care, education and human services.
Kavian Maghzy, EHG VP of Finance, stated that “our purpose is to extend our efforts to promote the health and well being of children and youth, especially through dental care which is our specialty. We began this in 2004 following the painful loss of a young colleague. To honor his memory, we began to work with his family to fund education and health care projects in his native country of India.”
Since that time, EHG has made substantial commitments to projects in India and Africa, as well as in the United States. “We established a wonderful partnership with Full Circle Learning, Inc., a Los Angeles based educational charity, who helped us develop and administer these programs”, said Maghzy.
In 2007 the Fund broadened its range of grants to include two dental clinics that treat over 15,000 underserved patients annually, a shelter that assists over 10,000 abuse victims each year, a university interfaith center that serves 2500 to 3000 youth each week, and a regional food bank.
“We would love to enlist the support of the dental industry in this effort”, stated Maghzy. “There are far too many underserved kids out there for EHG to handle alone. We’ve created a program to enlist more partners on our website.”
