The majority of the materials used in their closet systems are made from composite wood panels, which, by their very nature are among the greenest building materials available to consumers. They are produced from pre- and post consumer recycled wood and wood residuals that would otherwise by waisted or end up in landfills, making exceptional use of our valuable wood resources. They also take less energy to make than other building materials and produce fewer harmful bi-products. They can be re-used or left to bio-degrade naturally when their service life is done. The Ecopanels used by Eco-nize are specified by the Composite Panel Association as Environmentally friendly or EPP (Environmentally Preferable Product) Certified which basically means that the Ecopanel composition requires use of 100% recycled or recovered wood or wood fiber. The Ecopanels are also designed to be compliant with the U.S. Green Building Council's Leadership in Energy and Design (LEED) standards thereby giving architects, designers and builders additional points that could possibly make their building more eco-friendly.
