DirtFill.com: Providing a New Way to Preserve the Earth

June 21, 2007 --- DirtFill.com’s mission is to provide an invaluable resource for recycling dirtfill which saves fuel, generates less CO2 and protects the earth. They do this by helping contractors with excess dirtfill find close by residents and other contractors that need the dirtfill.

“One person’s excess fill is another person’s new yard, berm or driveway base”, said Kelby Bailey, VP, Marketing of Cut & Fill Inc, a 20 year old company that sponsors DirtFill.com. Excess fill is used for many other applications like a bike track, horse stables, and filling a pool or a ravine.

“A 14 year old boy gets a BMX bike track of his dreams while a contactor is saving fuel and CO2 emissions. You can’t get better recycling than that!” says Bailey.

Less trucking results in less fuel burned, and therefore less carbon dioxide and carbon monoxide emitted into the atmosphere. Shorter hauls also means less traffic, less noise and less odor. Bailey said, “We’re changing the way we live by changing the way contractors do business, while we protect the earth”.

New to the area, the website, DirtFill.com , connects those with excess dirtfill and those who need it in the Seattle – Tacoma - Bellingham metro area.

Residents can join free, list the material they need, and have clean dirtfill material delivered free or at a low cost, while contractors save money in search time and trucking to closer sites. “The closer the site, the more the contractor will save or save his client. A medium-size company can save $2000 to $3000 per haul, while a large one can save tens of thousands. It’s a win – win”, said Bailey.

“DirtFill.com has been serving our clients in Minneapolis – St. Paul, MN for 8 years”, Bailey said.

Recently introduced to the metro area, DirtFill.com already has over 200 posted listings of contractors and residents who want fill, and dozens of listings of locations that have excess fill. “We’re marketing to contractors and residents and their signing up like hotcakes!” says Bailey.

Those with longer term needs can list their locations, and those who must have their needs met in a few days can search for a close-by match. Just ask Don Rasmussen of Razz Construction how DirtFill.com saved them $100’s in trucking fuel costs on a recent project.

The website is very user friendly, but has a powerful search feature based on zip codes. Results are sorted by distance. The website lays out free and pay options. Anyone who wants fill will always be able to post one listing free of charge.

Bailey emphasized that, “Contractors who use DirtFill.com in the Seattle – Tacoma - Bellingham metro area will not only save money like our contractor clients in other metro areas, but they are helping to make our earth more green. And that’s good for all of us.”
