June 26, 2012 (MMD Newswire) -- Deluxe 142, the flagship post production facility within Deluxe Entertainment Group Europe, today announced the completion of the full picture and sound post production on BBC2's new primetime drama The Line of Duty.

Produced by World Productions for BBC Two and written by Jed Mercurio (Bodies), Line of Duty is a cat-and-mouse thriller taking a probing look into modern policing and police corruption. A multi-stranded investigation over five hour-long episodes, the drama is set in the fictional anti-corruption unit AC-12. With an all star cast including: Vicky McClure (This Is England, Stolen, Five Daughters), Martin Compston (The Disappearance Of Alice Creed, Sweet Sixteen), Lennie James (The Walking Dead, Snatch, 24 Hour Party People), and Gina McKee (In The Loop, Our Friends In The North, Notting Hill) The Line of Duty follows Detective Sergeant Steve Arnott's (Martin Compston) transfer to AC-12, a fictional anti-corruption unit, after a mistaken shooting during a counter-terrorist operation.

"The pace is what stood out for me" Says Alan Salabank, the audio editor who worked on the sound post production. "This project was brilliantly written and credits the viewer with the ability work out plotlines for themselves. It was a joy to work on this project as we were able to weave details into the soundtrack and gave signature sounds to characters and situations that subtly enhanced the viewing experience. We were able to use new technology to clean up location sound, which in turn saved considerable time and budget by significantly reducing the need for ADR on the project." A view mirrored by Adam Eddy, the Deluxe142 Editor who also found that VFX work, which historically may have require seperate VFX sessions for work such as sky replacement and brand removal can now be completed within the AvidDS suite. " By completing this challenging work in the same suite and on the same time line within the DS,we not only offer considerable time and money savings, but this workflow can also aid continuity checking" says Eddy.

Jet Omoshebi Graded the piece.

The line of Duty goes on air on 26th June 2012 and follows, Prisoners Wives, White Heat, Kidnap & Ransom, My Murder and Great Expectations through Deluxe142. This list of high calibre projects clearly demonstrates how 142 is the natural home of quality drama post production in the UK.
