(November 14, 2007 Huntington Beach, CA)  If you are trying to decide which charity to donate to this year, we have a solution for you.  IMAGINE THE POSSIBILITIES, an organization formed by Lily Jager of Huntington Beach, CA, is being introduced to the community through an event called “Cocktail Party for a Cause” bringing together seven different charities.  Donations at the night of the event, to any of the seven charities, will provide admission.

The event started as a charity project that Lily was required to submit for a private course she attended.  In working on her project, Lily initially doubted that she could actually make an impact.  As she began putting the project together, she found it difficult to identify one charitable cause that was more important than another.  

The project began to evolve into something bigger.  She felt that people choose charities by what the internally connect with, which led her to bringing together seven different charities at one event.  Lily wants to show others what one single person is capable of, and how many lives one single person is capable of impacting.   “People have an innate need to give and to help others, but the routine of our daily lives don’t allow for us to be confident enough to take action”, said Lily, “…and the worse part is our self doubt, that we don’t believe we can actually make a difference”.  

Born and raised in Lima, Peru, Lily came to the US when she was 27.  Now, a single mom, raising her teenage son in Orange County, working full time, she hopes to inspire people to follow her lead and make an impact to a local need.

The event will take place Friday, November 30, 2007, from 6:30pm - 12:00am, at the Hyatt Regency in Huntington Beach.  Donations, at the night of the event, to any of the seven organizations will provide admission.  There will be cocktails, hors d’ouevres, dancing, and live entertainment.  

The charities involved are as follows:

• A Blanket of Love - Goal to collect over 600 blankets, new or good condition, for shelters.
• Shoes of Hope - Goal to collect 300 pairs of shoes all sizes, new or good condition, for the Emmanuel Orphanage in Tijuana, Mexico.
• Memorial-Miller Children’s Hospital - Goal to collect new unwrapped toys for this hospital that provides care to high risk children.  
• Kids’ Global Outreach - Goal to collect clothing for children afflicted with AIDS living in Kambiri, west of Nairobi, Kenya.
• Long Beach Women’s shelter - Goal to collect women’s clothing to help women transition back into society.
• Catholic Workers Isaiah House - Goal to collect mens clothing and brand new mens crew socks to distribute to this shelter.
• Orangewood Childrens Foundation - Goal to raise money for children from 0-18 yrs who are victims of abuse, neglect and abandonment.  Donations applied towards scholarships & educational programs ($6000 sponsors one child’s college education for a full year).
