Self-published book set to become a Christmas classic
November 12, 2007
Christine Kringle - a book about Santa's daughter saving Christmas from being banned in England -that was recently self-published  in the US and the UK by acclaimed YA author Lynn Brittney and illustrated by award-winning artist Brita Granström, has developed a huge following on the blogosphere. Literary bloggers from the Philippines, to Australia, Canada and the UK have been praising the book, which they feel is destined to become a Christmas classic.

“Christine Kringle is a great adventure story, with non-stop action, laugh-out-loud situations and is full of the spirit and magic of Christmas,” – Books and Musings from Downunder, Australia.

“Young adult author Lynn Brittney has written a wonderfully creative Christmas adventure story…” A Work in Progress, US.

“This book does just what a Christmas story should, it reminds you that the season is an excuse to be happy and kind and enjoy life that should not be missed.” Eloise by the Book Piles, UK.

“Christine Kringle is a story full of good cheer, interesting titbits about how Christmas is celebrated around the world, and Christmas spirit. I can see it being turned into a feel-good family movie.” Into the Wardrobe, Philippines.

The website, www.christinekringle.com has been frantically busy, twenty four hours a day, as children (or maybe adults?) all over the world, send emails to Santa, play the flying Ferrari game and write to Christine herself.

Lynn Brittney has been taken aback by the breadth of interest in the book. “It is now being listed by many European and Asian online booksellers, which was a surprise. I knew the book would be popular in English-speaking countries but it appears that that it has attracted much wider attention."

Lynn, who is represented by the William Morris Agency, decided to self-publish the book because "I had a very special vision for the Christine Kringle books and I was not sure that a mainstream publisher would share that vision."

Lynn, in partnership with the illustrator, Brita, plans more Christmas adventures for Kriss Kringle's daughter and hopes to bring out a new story in time for the holidays in 2008.

CHRISTINE KRINGLE is available through all Amazon sites, many other online booksellers and to order through local bookshops in, it would appear, any country in the world.
