Children of US Troops KIA get $100.00 Christmas Gift Cards and VIP Vacation from OpChristmas.org |

ORLANDO, FL -- December 4, 2007 -- Operation Ensuring Christmas ...for Children of Fallen Troops announced today that almost 100 children of US troops killed around the globe will be receiving $100.00 Christmas Gift Cards for Christmas 2007. The Gift Cards will be placed in personalized individual Christmas Cards designed by Genesis Direct in Tampa Florida. OEC strives to bring a lil extra Christmas cheer to these very special kids with the Gift Cards. Many of these children received little or no benefits after losing their hero parent and the Gift Cards will also help with the financial burden of the Holidays.
The children are also eligible for a ‘Christmas in July’ VIP Theme Park Vacation in Orlando Florida or a Disney Cruise. Almost 50 children have experienced their VIP Vacations since 2004. OEC has over 200 children on file waiting to experience their trips as funds become available. “Hunter [4] has for the most part shut people out, been very quiet and introverted since losing his father. Since being at Disney he has opened up, talking to people, laughing, very outgoing. OEC has also re-released 'A lil Heroes Christmas' CD featuring children of the fallen for the 2007 Christmas Holidays. The CD was originally released on Veterans Day, November 11, 2006. On Saturday October 7, 2006 (the anniversary of the start of Operation Ensuring Freedom), children of fallen troops were in recording studios across the nation singing traditional Christmas songs and original songs written especially for them. The CD made #8 on Billboards new artist charts. 100% of the proceeds from the CD goes to OEC and it's programs benefiting the Children. The children are also featured in OEC’s ‘Jingle Bells’ Video. The video is available for viewing at www.opchristmas.org and www.youtube.com .
Operation Ensuring Christmas, a 501-c3 not-for-profit, was founded in October 2004 to provide support to the children of fallen American troops. OEC provides the children with Christmas gift cards during the holiday season and a VIP ‘Christmas in July’ Orlando Theme Park vacation. "These children truly are VIPs, Very Important 'Precious lil heroes' who have made the ultimate sacrifice a child can make for their country, the loss of a parent in service to our Nation.
