Operation Ensuring Christmas, a 501-c3 not-for-profit, was founded in October 2004 to provide financial, moral, and rehabilitative support to the children of fallen American troops. The organization provides children with Christmas gift cards during the holiday season, as well as a VIP “Christmas in July” Orlando Theme Park vacation. “These children truly are VIPs, Very Important ‘Precious lil heroes’ who have made the ultimate sacrifice a child can make for their country, the loss of a parent in service to our great Nation,” OEC founder Robert McDowell.

Camryn Darling of Davenport Florida, one of our VIP child stars on the CD, lost her father in Baghdad Iraq. Army Pfc Norman Darling was killed by a car bomb April 29, 2004. Operation Ensuring Christmas sent Camryn on a fun filled Disney Cruise to the Bahamas in April 2006 where she was reunited with her Bahamian grandparents, the Darlings, who she had not seen since her fathers funeral. The CD will help to raise the funds necessary to send many more of these children on their much deserved VIP vacation and provide Christmas Gift Cards to the children this Holiday season.

OEC has been thanked by President Bush at the White House for our efforts to support the children. OEC’s kids are supported directly or indirectly by the NFL’s NE Patriots, NASCAR, MLB’s TX Rangers, WWE and by Foundations, Corporations and generous individual Americans.

OEC is a member of America Supports You, a nationwide program that recognizes citizens’ support for military men and women.  The program helps link all the different efforts of the nearly 200 charitable organizations supporting the troops, and communicates that support to our Armed Forces and families through www.AmericaSupportsYou.mil .
