CANADIAN ETHANOL PLANT PRODUCES ENVIRONMENTALLY FRIENDLY FERTILIZER THAT KILLS WEEDS

Collingwood Ethanol Value Products ULC has developed an organic herbicidal fertilizer called “Amaizeingly Green™”

Amaizeingly Green is an environmentally friendly alternative fertilizer made from corn gluten meal and has numerous advantages over traditional lawn applications, which have been banned in most major municipalities across Canada.  Amaizeingly Green has received two separate and distinct authorizations including one from the PMRA PCP# 28647 for use a pre-emergent herbicide and one from the CFIA for use as a fertilizer and a fertilizer pesticide mix.

Collingwood, Ontario – May 1, 2008. Going green has become a lot easier and inexpensive thanks to a new product developed by a Canadian ethanol producer.

Amaizeingly Green ™ corn gluten turf fertilizer, manufactured in Collingwood Ontario, has several advantages over customary lawn care products.  It will not burn your turf.  It’s easily applied using any fertilizer spreader.  It can be applied during rain or shine and more importantly; pets and children can safely use the treated area immediately after it has been applied. There is no waiting period required with Amaizeingly Green.

Corn Gluten Meal is a natural byproduct of Collingwood Ethanol’s wet-milling process. Corn gluten meal is used in the production of taco shells, pet foods, corn chips and animal feed.  CGM is a 60 per cent protein material containing 10 per cent nitrogen. Corn Gluten Meal is both a pre-emergent herbicide and a natural source of Nitrogen fertilizer, making it an all natural weed and feed product. Most municipalities across Canada have recently banned chemical based herbicides, making Amaizeingly Green a natural and green alternative.

Collingwood Ethanol LP is a unique ethanol plant in terms of its mandate to use or reuse all of its ethanol production by-products in a manner that truly makes this an innovative, environmentally friendly and green manufacturing facility.

The product is available in all Provinces and is registered for sale in 41 of 50 states in the United States with the anticipation of being registered in all States within one month.

The Collingwood facility is capable of producing 54 tonnes of product per day or 10,000 bags of fertilizer daily.
