The WEVA International Creative Excellence Award is one of the most prestigious recognitions bestowed within the professional wedding and event video production industry. Gold, Silver, Bronze, and Finalist Awards are presented in 16 production categories each year after judging of entries by a select panel of prior-year winners. Winners are selected anonymously based upon dramatic impact, creativity, originality, shooting and editing style, and overall production content of their entries. Only unaltered client productions from the previous year are eligible. Producers from across the United States and as many as 20 other countries typically enter the competition.
Cameo Video Productions of Washington specializes in wedding and social event videography and is one of Washington DC's top Creative Excellence Award winners. In 2006, the company won the Best of Category Gold Award for social event coverage. Its 2009 Silver award-winning film documented the military honors funeral service of Air Force Colonel Fletcher B. Porter at Arlington National Cemetery. This film was produced by company owner Jerry Werthman with assistance from associate Pamela Fontana.
