MEMPHIS, Tennessee -- November 7, 2007 -- Back Yard Burgers, Inc. announced that its merger with BBAC, LLC and BBAC Merger Sub, Inc. is final effective today, according to new Chief Executive Officer C. Stephen Lynn.

In comments on the merger, Lynn said, “We are bullish on the future of the Back Yard Burgers brand and our expectations are high. Back Yard Burgers is positioned in the market at the upper end of the quick-service segment with a tremendous opportunity to become a strong regional brand.”

In addition to CEO Lynn, Back Yard Burgers’ new management team includes interim Chairman of the Board Reid M. Zeising with Cherokee Advisors of Atlanta; Wallace Hite, Chief Operating Officer; and Mickey Skelton, Vice-President of Franchise Services.
Back Yard Burgers plans to relocate its headquarters from Memphis to Nashville over the next 90 days.

C. Stephen Lynn previously served as Chairman of the Board for Sonic Corporation and Shoney’s, Inc. and is currently Chairman of Cummings Signs, Inc. in Nashville.

BBAC, LLC acquired Back Yard Burgers in a transaction valued at approximately $38 million. Under the terms of the merger agreement, the holders of Back Yard Burgers (BYBI) common stock and preferred stock received $6.50 per share in cash for their shares upon the stock closing, Monday November, 2007.

Back Yard Burgers operates and franchises quick-service restaurants in 20 states, primarily in markets through the Southeast region of the United States. The restaurants specialize in charbroiled, freshly-prepared, great-tasting food.
