Additionally, Sargent-Hamill offers up resources found within one's community for learning video editing or for help with finishing touches.
"My passion for documenting elder histories began when I filmed an interview with my father on his 88th birthday," says Sargent-Hamill. "After he passed away, I made DVDs of the interview and gave them to my immediate family. We treasure this film, and every year on our father's birthday, my sister and I watch it and celebrate his life."

Janette Sargent-Hamill is a social gerontologist and independent filmmaker who has worked with the elderly for over 15 years. She is the owner of Windward Productions, where she produces and edits healthy aging videos and personal and family documentaries. She also facilitates workshops in California and Hawaii that provide individuals with the tools to create their own documentaries. Sargent-Hamill currently resides in Kaneohe.
