Art News: Barebrush N*des-of-the-Month July 2007
New York, NY – June 29, 2007 – Barebrush.com announces the publication of July 2007, the eleventh calendar in the barebrush.com N*des-of-the-Month series. It was curated by Alberto Magnan founder and director of Magnan Projects and Magnan Emrich Contemporary, two galleries in New York’s Chelsea art district. The 31 artworks (one for each day of the month) were selected from over 300 entries. N*des-of-the-Month July 2007 is in previews for members only and viewable by the public beginning July 1, 2007 at www.barebrush.com.
About the Artists in the N*des-of-the-Month July 2007 calendar:
Alberto Magnan especially liked the photography entries. He chose Spanish photographic artist, Laila Escartin for the honor of both launching and closing July in a blaze of red heat. Other artists he also favored are Jean Marcellino (New York) and Hector Olvera (Mexico). Donna Cleary (New York) and Gerard Elleboudt (Belgium) each got an especially enthusiastic nod from Alberto as he selected their pieces.

About Magnan Projects, Magnan Emrich Contemporary and Alberto Magnan
Magnan Projects was founded in May 2005 by Alberto Magnan and is managed with his partner Dara Metz. The gallery exhibits artists of diverse international backgrounds working in a broad range of medium. Magnan and Metz work closely with their artists assisting with fabrication and installation projects as well as promoting the artwork through collaborations with various institutions, organizations and corporations.
For over a decade, Alberto Magnan has sought out and developed the careers of cutting edge emerging and mid-career artists. After having established one of the first Chelsea galleries in 1997, Magnan left, in 2000, to pursue a career as an independent art advisor, taking collectors on international tours as well as filming a documentary on Cuban art. He decided to return to the gallery world in 2005. Dara Metz brings over fifteen years of experience in contemporary arts and design. She has worked in numerous galleries in New York City and as an independent curator and consultant to museums and non-profit organizations in the arts. Metz holds a Masters degree in Art History.
Magnan Emrich Contemporary was established by art dealer Alberto Magnan and his business partner Ed Emrich in 2006. The Gallery is dedicated to showcasing contemporary Latin-American art and special projects. In addition to establishing its own program, the Gallery invites guest curators to inject new concepts and knowledge of Latin-American art. Alberto Magnan continually searches for new and exciting artists in an effort to expose Latin-American arts and culture to a wider audience.
barebrush.com is an international marketplace dedicated exclusively to the art of the nude. Membership on the site is free, and listing art on the site for 30 days is also free. The N*des-of-the-Month is a virtual juried exhibition of the art selected from the “Art Log” by a different guest art professional each month. The exhibition is presented on the web in a unique calendar format and for each day of the month, the nude of the day is featured on the barebrush home page. Free printable versions of all calendars are available at the website in both one-page-per-month and weekly planner (seven-days-per-page) formats. In addition, calendar shirts and barebrush gear are available for sale.
The N*des-of-the-Month exhibition series began in September 2006 with an exhibition curated by Brigitte Saint-Ouen, founder and director of Gramercy 32 Fine Arts. All the calendars and the details of the art represented are available in the archives of barebrush.com.
