Apex Companies Promotes Jay Borkland to Director of National Waterways and Alternative Energy Services
Seasoned Professional Kelly Hurstak Named Boston's Division Manager
ROCKVILLE, MD (MMD Newswire) August 1, 2012 -- Apex Companies, LLC - a leading national energy, water resources and environmental consulting and engineering firm - has named Jay Borkland its Director of National Waterways and Alternative Energy Services.
In the newly created role, Borkland will be responsible for expanding Apex's waterways, ports and harbors services nationally, while continuing to support and develop similar practices he previously supervised as Boston's Division Manager. In order to enhance Apex's position as a leader in the new energy marketplace, Borkland will rely on his more than 30 years of field experience to grow the company's alternative energy services nation-wide, including those related to the promising offshore wind and ocean energy business sector.

Hurstak brings more than 20 years of environmental services experience, most recently as Branch Manager for Environmental Compliance Services, Inc. (ECS). Prior to that Hurstak served as an Environmental Analyst for Groundwater Consultants, Inc. and cofounded Mykrowaters, Inc., a full-service environmental consulting firm based in Concord, MA.
