May 17, 2010 (MMD Newswire) -- Former mr universe muscles in on anxiety epidemic at International Science Conference in Texas

Former Mr universe, Australian Ken Ware will make a second appearance in front of the International Science community this year scientifically describing what Anxiety ‘looks' like on the human nervous system. "most people understand or can relate to what anxiety feels like however I have discovered a foolproof way of showing a person the degree of anxiety that is inhibiting the proper functioning of their nervous system" Ware said.

Recently on "Insight" (SBS) the programme was dedicated to Anxiety and highlighted the magnitude of the problem here in Australia.

Wares paper entitled "Controlling Chaos on the human nervous system" will be presented in symposium format at the 20th International Science Conference marked down for 22-24 July at Texas State University, San Marcos.

The research has taken 25 years to fully unveil the significance of these findings in terms of the relationship between the degrees of anxiety on the nervous system and any physical or emotional disease or disorder a person may have. Under normal circumstances the human nervous system is very well calibrated to suitably reflex to environmental stimuli. In todays societies there is often evidence of individuals being over stimulated. This upsets reflex arcs and causes gross inhibition of the nervous system through desensitization. This reduces the stress coping ability of the individual as they have less excitatory neural mass to buffer them from their environment. "It is inevitable that this will produce the anxiety we are able to witness". Ware said. "The comforting thing is that we can show a person how simple it is to recalibrate their nervous system using the same technique that exposes the chaos. This is what is referred to as a back transition where the nervous system is reset similar to the ‘systems restore' in the tools of your computer. Or like the sudden electric shock that is administered to the heart of a person whos heart is displaying chaotic rythms. This has the tendency to reset the heart to normal".

Whilst the scientific explanations for this are very complex, the simple explanation is that our emotions, thoughts, feelings and actions combined with our interpretation of our environment mould the nervous system. Over exposure to information, TV, games Ipods, computers etc makes the nervous system work harder than it is capable of. "The human nervous system can only metabolize information at certain speeds relevant to the individual" Ware said. "It can be easily demonstrated to the individual what their particular speed limit is. Distracting background noise coming in from Ipods and other such technologies has a numbing effect on our brains". These however are just a few of many on Ware's ‘world noise' list . "Imagine trying to improve your golf swing or tennis serve wearing an Ipod. It dosnt take much imagination to understand why this would be impossible and at the same time you would be alerting yourself as to why they are a no brainer under any circumstance".

There is a lot of interest from the International Science community in Ware's work as it provides a very reliable base to assess the things that are impacting on any particular persons nervous system. "You can see in real time the effect something as simple as the memory of a painful experience has on the persons nervous system or more significantly the impact certain medical treatments may have that could provide very early warning that this particular treatment may not be worth perusing. There are massive applications in between these two scenarios". Ware commented.
