Annual Taiwanese American Cultural Festival Scheduled for May 17

The annual Taiwanese American Cultural Festival will be held at union Square in San Francisco on Saturday, May 17,2008 from 10AM to 6PM. The Festival is a celebration of the Asian Pacific Heritage month in May proclaimed by former President Clinton in 1999.

The Mayor of San Francisco Gavin Newsom has also proclaimed May 17th "The Taiwanese Day in San Francisco".

Traditional dance, music, arts and Taiwanese food will be featured. The highlight of this year's program is a concert performed by the "Ten Drum" Art Percussion group from Taiwan.
