“Ann Calvello: Roller Derby Athlete appears in new Internet Video”

Ladies roller skating legend, Ann Calvello, returns to Internet TV in a new on demand video this week starting February 9th 2007 at the web site: www.BayCityBombers.com ;  available to watch 24-hours a day.

The “unpredictable” Ann Calvello, known for wild hair and make up, shares her personal secret s to what it took to become a champion speed skater and roller derby legend in a new cyber-video.

This 15 minute documentary depicts Calvello’s 1940’s flat track speed skating days; decades before becoming recognized by the current sports revival as the women’s roller derby’s punk rock icon.  The American Roller Derby League® uncovered video of Ann never seen before.

“Thousands of women athletes and loyal fans will be empowered by her message of what makes a champion”, said a league spokesperson.

Archival footage of the “meanest mama on skates” is edited with a studio interview recorded in San Francisco before her passing in 2006. Calvello’s passing hit the National media and included notices by Frank Deford of Sports Illustrated and Time Magazines 2006 sports persons of the year.
