Philadelphia Births a Groundbreaking Interactive Reality Show about ActorsFinally there’s an opportunity for actors to be discovered based purely on talent and versatility. On Sunday, September 30th the doors will open at Mike Lemon Casting, 413 North Seventh Street, Philadelphia to screen candidates for “American Actor: Philadelphia”, an interactive reality show that tests both the actor’s stage and screen abilities. Three of the top Hollywood agencies in the industry will screen and judge the finalists. The winner is offered a major role on a network television show. New Century TV produces “American Actor: Philadelphia” for evaluation to be aired on network television.

In addition to the thorough 3-round audition process, Philadelphia actors will be tested in the following genres: Action Adventure, Sketch Comedy, Contemporary Drama, Television Situation Comedy, Romance, Sci-Fi/Fantasy, Crime Drama, Classic Theater, Dramatic Improvisation and, most importantly, the Story of the Actor.
The 3-show pilot series will culminate with a Livestream™ performance where online audiences directly influence the moment-to-moment happenings of the actor’s plot lines!
“American Actor” will also put the city of Philadelphia center stage. The show will prominently feature local University film and theater departments. “American Actor” also wants to chronicle some of the accomplishments of Philadelphia’s local theater companies.
There's much talent and experience associated with this project. Ariel Schwartz, the show's producer, has co-created the hit PBS game show "Where in the World is Carmen Sandiego?" and is CEO of New Century TV - home to the "American Actor" show.
"American Actor" has partnered with Mike Lemon and Mike Lemon Casting to help select the talented actors who will bring the show into the national spotlight. Mike Lemon Casting has provided casting services to such film projects as "Philadelphia", "In Her Shoes", "Ocean's Eleven" and several of the M. Night Shyamalan films including "The Sixth Sense", "The Village" and "Signs".
The local theater community has also been very supportive. Village Productions of Pottstown has provided talent services. The producers are also scouting local Philadelphia theater companies to host the final live competition in December.
Mike Lemon Casting associate, Scott Evans is a production coordinator and panelist. Diane Walsh, Producer and Development Executive for feature films, television movies of the week and cable movies will serve as guest panelist in the early audition stages. Michael Port (“Sex in the City”, “Another World”) is author of the best-selling business book “Book Yourself Solid” and will be a guest panelist for the audition finals. Other guest celebrity panelists will be announced for future episodes.
Q102’s Lisa Paige will host “American Actor” along with Mike Shoeman, the show’s Creator and Producer.
