Aidmatrix Foundation Announces the Establishment of Romania Aidmatrix Network
July 30, 2008

DALLAS, TX – July 30, 2008 – On Thursday, July 17, The Aidmatrix Foundation, Inc. announced the signing of a framework agreement at the Romanian Embassy in Washington, D.C. to establish a Romania Aidmatrix Network. Romania is the first country in Europe to establish the Aidmatrix Network as its National Portal for humanitarian relief.

The Aidmatrix Foundation will partner with the Government of Romania, through the General Inspectorate for Emergency Situations and the American Romanian Alliance, a designated non-governmental organization for relief. The Aidmatrix Network in Romania will allow coordination between donors and supporters from the private sector in a public private partnership that includes the Chambers of Commerce, the Red Cross and other relief organizations, NATO and other countries on the system, as well as major international corporations.

The government of Romania will model the program after the successful model for public private cooperation that has been established in the U.S. with FEMA and DHS and most U.S. States now on an Aidmatrix Network.

The Romania Aidmatrix Network will establish links with global donors – major corporations and charitable organizations – to donate goods and services – medical supplies, food, clothing – and match them with needs in areas of Romania impacted by disaster. It will also be an information system to help Romanian business communication. Aside from aid during disasters, the Aidmatrix Network will be available for matching donors with recipients in need in Romania during the year, in a similar fashion as is done in the U.S. with organizations such as the National Association of Free Clinics and America’s Second Harvest.

According to Aidmatrix Foundation CEO Scott McCallum “Aidmatrix recognizes the contribution that it can make to the social and economic development in Romania through encouraging public private partnerships, developing non governmental organizations for humanitarian relief, and encouraging exchanges between the corporate and public sectors.”

The Aidmatrix Network will bring state-of-the-art logistics and supply chain technology to Romania. It is anticipated that donor and sponsoring corporations to Romania Aidmatrix will learn about business opportunities in Romania and be active in the local community.

The Aidmatrix Foundation recognized that the Government of Romania has made a major commitment to emergency management and humanitarian assistance to its citizens in need. Its approach is to emphasize the collaboration of both the civilian and military ministries in Romania, and involve the participation of the private sector and non-profit organizations as much as possible. This is necessary in order to prepare for natural disasters such as floods and major catastrophes, such as earthquakes. Moreover, it will create relationships that will be beneficial for sustainable development. Aidmatrix welcomes the opportunity to make this contribution through Aidmatrix Romania.
