35TH ANNUAL BANJO MUSIC CONCERT - SAN JOSE, CALIFORNIA Tickets have just been released for Peninsula Banjo Band’s 35th annual 2007 Banjo Jubilee Music Concert in San Jose, California. This popular fun event is always a sell-out so if you want to attend - order tickets early. The event raises money for local SF Bay Area charities and is sponsored each year by the Peninsula Banjo Band in San Jose, California.
RHYTHM – RAG – ROCK (HAPPY MUSIC) THEME Superb banjo artists and bands from California & Japan will perform at this years’ 2007 banjo music charity fund-raising event. The event is a non-stop 5 hour live performance and will feature 6 performing bands, 2 performing solo artists and one performing artist trio.
PENINSULA BANJO BAND – EVENT HOST & PERFORMING BAND 2007 will be Peninsula Banjo Band’s 35th year of producing & hosting this very popular and fun music event. Peninsula Banjo band is well known in the San Francisco Bay Area and has performed at thousands of gatherings throughout northern California.
You have likely seen or heard them at banjo music shows, “Bay Area Back Roads” TV, parties, concerts or civic events. Recently the band opened at local appearances of the Count Basie Orchestra, New Orleans Preservation Hall Society Jazz Band and opening day of Major League Baseball’s 2007 Bay Area weekend celebration.
TOKYO BANJO STOMPERS – PERFORMING GUEST BAND This outstanding professional group from Tokyo, Japan rocked the house last year with one standing ovation after another. Attendees could not get enough. They are spending over $25,000 of their own money to perform at this years’ event.
BILL LOWREY– PERFORMING GUEST SOLOIST This superbly gifted SF Bay Area professional plectrum banjo musician has been wowing audiences for years with his amazing playing style and mellow plectrum sounds. He will thrill and delight you.
CHARLIE’S TRIO – PERFORMING GUEST TRIO - FATHER & SON + ONE Expect to be dazzled. But then what would you expect from Charlie - a genuine Guthrie, Oklahoma National Banjo Hall of Fame entertainer? This talented father-son banjo duo with accompanying gut bucket player Mary Horne are no strangers to past jubilee attendees. You won’t be disappointed.
KURT ABELL – PERFORMING GUEST SOLOIST This classically trained musician is constantly on the road touring or at home recording. Kurt is a wonderful entertainer who performs at jazz festivals worldwide and plays everything. Chances are you may have seen him on TV or heard him on the radio. Anyway, now you can see and hear him in person.
SACRAMENTO BANJO BAND – PERFORMING GUEST BAND A well known group from the California capital will once again please attendees.
EAST BAY BANJO BAND – PERFORMING GUEST BAND This “River Queen” float band hails from Pleasant Hill, California and recently entertained in the far away Czech Republic and just returned from performing in Guthrie, Oklahoma (home of the national banjo hall of fame).
WINELAND BANJO BAND – PERFORMING GUEST BAND A small band but very entertaining - you will enjoy their music.
HAPPY TIME BANJOS – PERFORMING GUEST BAND This crowd pleasing Redwood City, California group plays banjo music with amazing specialized rhythms and styles.
